The Symbol of Hinduism

Om, also spelled Aum, is the sacred symbol of the religion of Hinduism. It represents three topics. The three worlds, which is Earth, the atmosphere, and Heaven, the three major gods, who are Brahman, Vishnu, and Shiva, and lastly, the three sacred texts (Vedic) which are the Rig Veda, The Sama Veda, and the Yajur Veda.

The Om expressed the essence of the whole universe. This meaning is deeply embedded by the Indian ethical belief, that God was the first to create sound and the entire universe rose from it. So the most sacred sound is Om and this symbol is pretty much the root of the universe and everything that lives. It holds everything together.
